Apprenticeship schemes are an excellent way for a young person to acquire practical
work based skills on the job and development
knowledge through theoretical learning as well
as improve Maths and English, typically through
day release at a college.
To be an apprentice the young person not only has to find a job but one where
the boss is prepared to support them with training.
For the employer the challenge is to find a reliable
and motivated young person who has the potential
to develop in to a successful member of the organisational
team. Meeting both sides of this challenge is
often the stumbling block.
