Apprenticeships are learning programmes designed for people aged 16+. Apprentices can learn on and off-the-job, learning the specific skills employers most need in the workplace.

What is a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ)?

NVQs are work based qualifica-tions that recognises an individ-ual’s ability to carry out a particular job role to national standards.

 
 

What is e2e?

e2e is a individual development programme for 16 – 18 year olds who are not currently training or employed. The programme aims to develop the skills they need to find the right job and make the most of their potential

Each e2e programme combines advice and guidance, learning, qualifications and work placements in a package tailored to the individuals learner’s needs.

Programme-Led Apprenticeships

Apprenticeship schemes are an excellent way for a young person to acquire practical work based skills on the job and development knowledge through theoretical learning as well as improve Maths and English, typically through day release at a college.

To be an apprentice the young person not only has to find a job but one where the boss is prepared to support them with training. For the employer the challenge is to find a reliable and motivated young person who has the potential to develop in to a successful member of the organisational team. Meeting both sides of this challenge is often the stumbling block.
